This resort, formerly Purgatory Ski Area, is an up and comer in the Colorado ski scene. They've changed the name and are trying to change the image of this sleepy area. The town of Durango, about 30 minutes from the resort, is a classic Colorado town with plenty of shops, restaurants, and charming accommodation to choose from.
