Jackson Hole has been fighting it's own image as an experts only resort for years. Yes, the ski area does offer some of the best extreme terrain in the US, but intermediates and beginners don't need to worry.there are plenty of runs and places for you to ski as well! The resort boasts one of the best ski schools for both kids and adults and they work diligently to make even the most nervous of intermediates feel comfortable on this challenging mountain. The snowfall is best during January and February. The low east-facing slopes can get a bit soft from mid March.
Jackson town is a classic Old West renovation complete with wooden sidewalks, charming buildings, cowboys saloons and cute shops. It is certainly the place to stay but ski-in/ski-out fans have Teton Village as an alternative. This mountain, town, and area is a winter paradise. Great skiing, good snow, and tons to do make Jackson Hole one of the best skiing destinations in North America. It's a definite on the AmeriCan Ski top 10 list!
Jackson is amazing value because although a major ski resort, winter is off peak. Jackson is a huge summer resort for Yellowstone, and they can't fill the place in winter so accommodation prices have to be very competitive. |
